About the Author

Hi, I’m Vesper L. Rayne. I love telling stories, though I’ve never been especially interested in staying inside one genre. I write character-driven romance, fantasy, speculative fiction, and stories about strange little places and the people—and occasional creatures—who live there. My stories wander through the funny, eerie, tender, and sometimes heartbreaking, but I’m usually drawn to the same things: people who feel a little out of place, unexpected forms of love, and the small kindnesses that give us somewhere softer to land. I believe monsters can be lonely, whimsy can carry real weight, and a good story can help us step away from the world for a while—and perhaps return to it feeling a little less alone. I’m also an artist, and I live near Puget Sound with my family and two dogs. I hope you find something here that makes you laugh, makes you feel, or simply keeps you company for a little while.
